Privacy Policy — Trick Shot Cinema
Last updated: 2026-11-04
Trick Shot Cinema is owned and operated by Uru Capital LLC ("we", "us").
Trick Shot Cinema is a movie puzzle game. We keep the least data we need to run it.
What we collect
- An account id, a sign-in token and a random guest name (like @unhingedwalrus-00587), made when you first open the
app. No email or phone number is needed to play.
- If you sign in with Google or Discord (optional): your account id from that service, so you can
sign in on another device. From Google we also get your email address and name; we keep the email and don't keep
the name. From Discord we ask only for your account id and keep nothing else (no email). We never post anything,
and we can't see your password, messages or friends there.
- If you sign in with email (optional): your email address, to sign you in and to send account emails only
(confirm your email, reset your password). Never marketing. Your password is stored scrambled (a one-way hash), so
nobody here can read it. Our account emails are sent by Resend (resend.com), which sees the address and the email.
- Your username, if you sign in and claim one, and your Letterboxd username, if you add it.
- Your games: the puzzles you play, the links you pick, your times, scores, streaks and badges.
- Your Stubs (signed-in players): a history of the Stubs you earn and spend (what for and when), the shop items you
own and which ones you wear. Stubs are a free in-game reward with no money value; you can't buy or cash them out.
- Friends and rooms you join, and the challenges you send and receive.
- Basic request logs (time, path, error codes) kept for up to 30 days to fix problems.
- Game events (for example "daily started", "result shared") tied to your account id, so we can see what's fun and what's broken. They're kept on our own server, never sent to an analytics company, use no cookies, and never include your IP address. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, the app sends none.
How long we keep it
- Guests (you play without signing in): if you don't open the app for 7 days, we delete your guest account and
everything tied to it (games, scores, badges). Other players keep their own games against you.
- Stub history: kept with your account and deleted with it.
- Signed-in players: we keep your account until you delete it.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers.
- We don't use advertising trackers.
- We don't read your contacts, photos or location.
Who sees what
- Friends see your username, today's status and scores after they finish the same puzzle.
- Anyone who sees your name also sees the name colour and avatar frame you wear. Your Stubs balance and history are
only shown to you.
- Leaderboards show your score. Who sees your username next to it is your choice in Settings: Everyone, Friends (the
default: friends and people in your Screening Rooms) or Just me. Everyone else sees "Anonymous Critic".
Your choices
- Sign in to keep your games. Change your username or Letterboxd link at any time in Profile.
- Unlink Google or Discord any time in Settings › Sign-in. We delete what we got from that service right away. If
it's your only way back in, get a recovery code first. You can also remove our access from your Google or Discord
account settings.
- Remove email sign-in any time in Settings › Sign-in; we delete your email and password right away.
- Delete your account and all your games from Settings › Delete account. It's removed within 30 days.
Children
The game is for ages 13 and up.
Film data
Film and credit information comes from IMDb through a third-party data service. Posters and photos belong to their owners.
